Innovative endometriosis care with patient well-being at the forefront

The Dutch Endometriosis Centre (NEK) is a center of expertise for people with endometriosis, with a focus on the treatment of deep endometriosis in a multidisciplinary team.

This team consists of medical specialists (dedicated gynecologists, surgeons, urologists, radiologists, and pain specialists), paramedics (psychologists, dietitians, pelvic floor physiotherapists), nurses, and a dedicated surgical team. There is also close collaboration with the Fertility Center and the Department of Gynecology at Reinier de Graaf Hospital in Delft.

With a personalized approach and a focus on overall health, the treatment team works together with the patient to explore ways to manage symptoms and make the symptoms manageable. We think along and provide advice on all possible forms of treatment that can contribute to the quality of life. The ultimate goal being the aim for the highest quality of life possible. This also applies to the treatment of fertility issues. On request, we provide treatment recommendations to patients out of the region.

We are also committed to increasing awareness of endometriosis among healthcare professionals, to help accurately diagnose and treat endometriosis. We collaborate with various universities to train doctors in endometriosis, to increase the number of qualified endometriosis specialized doctors. Through our self-initiated scientific research, we actively contribute to developing more insight into endometriosis and into better treatments for patients with endometriosis.
