Center of expertise for (deep) endometriosis
Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue resembling the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus (the endometrium) is also located outside the uterus. This tissue can attach itself to the abdominal lining or to organs in the abdomen and cause an inflammatory response which can cause pain, formation of adhesions, and could potentially lead to fertility problems. Deep endometriosis is a form of endometriosis that can invade and damage organs (such as the intestines, bladder, and ureters) and that can also affect nerves.

What are the Symptoms
Endometriosis can lead to a wide range of symptoms, which can vary from person to person. Common symptoms of endometriosis include menstrual pain or heavy periods, pain during intercourse, pain during bowel movements or urination, and fertility problems. These pains can possible develop into pain that is constantly present (chronic pain). In addition, many people experience fatigue, bloating, digestive issues, and urinary problems.
